Nucleo Ciudad Guyana

The Gothenburg ensemble got a very warm welcome by the children, teachers and the director of the Nucleo in Puerto Ordaz. "You can not imagine what your visit means to us. It is huge!", Victor said.

There are 2000 children coming to the Nucleo six days a week. They get their education and rehearsals in a building with floors and walls of stone and concrete. Some small rooms are built in with thin walls of plywood. The sound is everywhere, all the time...

There are three symphony orchestras at different levels.

And some Venezuelan music as well.

The well prepared tour of the Nucleo lasted for almost four hours, giving examples of the wonderful work they are doing for the children in Puerto Ordaz and San Felix.

The last treat was the percussion ensemble who showed tremendous development since Roger was here last year. Seeing all children, at different ages, levels and needs, perform together is so hopeful for this society and the world. We can really learn a lot!

Gracias!
